Ecology
Egg
It appears only on dark nights and is always covered in thick mist.It attempts to hatch strictly in darkness, as birth in bright places is fatally detrimental to its health. It is an egg that nurtures its vitality by making darkness its sanctuary, and must remain in the dark, avoiding light.
Hatch
Unlike in its egg state, a gem appears on its forehead as a Hatchling. The gem is known to maintain the form of the Black Dragon. Its claws are like smoke but very sharp, so if touched incorrectly, blood will be drawn. Wounds inflicted by the Black Dragon are deeper than others and do not heal well. As a Hatchling, it mostly stays in one place and dislikes wandering.
Hatchling
Unlike when it was a Hatch, wings like the wind appear. The wings flutter when the wind blows but always maintain their shape. Its entire body resembles a dark cloud, but it doesn't easily blow away. It can now control the power of gems even more, allowing it to not only maintain its own body but also transform its body's shape.
Adult
The gem on its forehead helps the Black Dragon avoid assimilation into darkness. A Black Dragon that loses its gem instantly vanishes like mist. The gem can glow or darken according to the Black Dragon's will.
Observation Log
- The green gem on its forehead plays a key role in maintaining its form, but due to the energy mixed with darkness, wound healing is slow.
- The gem shines according to the Black Dragon's will, revealing its emotions. If the gem disappears, the Black Dragon's consciousness blurs and scatters into darkness.
- The Black Dragon instinctively chooses darkness and finds freedom within it. Those trapped in the Black Dragon's mist fall into illusions and lose their memories, but only chosen Tamers can remain safe without falling into the illusions.
