Ecology
Egg
It has a shape similar to a mushroom, making it difficult to distinguish from actual mushrooms. It is mainly found in damp forest areas or near where mushrooms grow. It is a mysterious egg that is hard to distinguish from its surroundings and can only be found with careful observation.
Hatch
In its hatchling state after hatching, it has no wings. It wears a mushroom cap, its tail tip is blunt, and its legs are very short. It mostly crawls along the ground, and because its body is so small, it sometimes hides inside the mushroom cap.
Hatchling
Its tail and legs grow long, and wings appear. The sprouted wings have no feathers. Its body is light and soft, leaving almost no footprints on the ground, and making no sound when it walks. It likes humid places and eats moss there.
Adult
Its body is light and soft like a mushroom, so it makes no sound when it walks. Indeed, a Mushroom Dragon's body feels very soft. This is known to be due to the fur covering its body. It has no feathers on its wings, but can fly with just its wingbeats. Its tail grows so long that it drags on the ground. Its wings become larger than its face, and several mushrooms grow on its back. If it finds a mushroom it likes, it sometimes plants it on its own body. It shakes the giant mushrooms multiple times to release spores. If hit by a Mushroom Dragon's spores, mushrooms sprout from the body, and one falls into a deep sleep. Mushroom Dragon spores, when not intended for attack, have an anesthetic effect and are thus an important resource used as an anesthetic.
Observation Log
- In dangerous situations, it hides its body under a large mushroom cap. It scatters spores to grow small mushrooms around it, and due to its strong vigilance, if someone approaches, it puts them to sleep and quietly disappears.
- It quietly listens to the sounds of the forest, examines moss and fungi, and stays in moist soil. It trims mushrooms grown on its body or plants its favorite fungi, sometimes even gifting mini mushrooms it has cultivated itself.
- The spores it emits to trusted beings induce deep rest. Mushroom Dragon's mushrooms are popular among Tamers for their effectiveness in relieving colds, fatigue, and pain. As an adult, it calmly surveys its surroundings like a forest master before revealing itself.
