Ecology
Egg
This egg harmonizes leaves, fruit, and a hard carapace at its center. The carapace's shimmer changes with its moisture content, and it is mainly found near swamps. It must be carefully lifted from the bottom to prevent the leaves on the egg from falling off.
Hatch
In its hatchling state, it has no wings. A flower bud is attached to its head, and the larger and fresher it is, the more one can gauge its future growth. Although it cannot fly due to lack of wings, it is very light and can move freely over swamps. As a hatchling, it preys on many small swamp insects by floating only the leaf on its head, emitting a unique scent to attract insects, and then devouring them.
Hatchling
Wings grow, and the leaves on its head and its legs lengthen. Although it can fly with its wings, it doesn't particularly enjoy flying. It still loves water and primarily feeds on fish and other creatures living in swamps. Its jaw is more developed than in its Hatch form, allowing it to eat food completely and grow. Thanks to its large mouth, it can swallow any food in one gulp.
Adult
In swamps, it hides by floating only the leaves on its head on the water, preying on anything that targets the leaves. Frog Dragons are often seen mistaking the leaves on a Swamp Dragon's head for lily pads and sitting on them. Because of this, the relationship between Frog Dragons and Swamp Dragons is not good. Leaves grow all over its body, including its wings, and flowers sometimes bloom on the edges of its wings. The armor on its chest has a space to store water. Despite its large lower jaw, it doesn't eat much. The scent of the flower on its head is very appealing, luring prey. It hides its body in the swamp, using the fruit and leaves on its head to attract and devour prey. Insects and fish drawn by the scent become the Swamp Dragon's food. It's best to be careful not to carelessly touch the leaves and fruit on its head, as it can negatively affect the Swamp Dragon's health. The mud and leaves covering the Swamp Dragon's scales fall to the ground every time it moves. Just as its body is sticky, it is also known for being clingy in relationships. No matter how much a Tamer tries to separate it or release it, it is a very clingy Dragon that always returns to its Tamer.
Observation Log
- When the leaves on its head float on the water's surface, insects drawn by the scent gather. The Swamp Dragon, floating by the water, shakes its flower bud and instantly swallows the approaching insects.
- It hides its body, extending only the leaves above its head to lure prey. It moves smoothly over the Swamp with its light body, and the ripples created by its movement attract small creatures.
- It moves efficiently along the Swamp's currents, barely using its wings. It gauges its health by its flower bud, and the larger the petals, the larger the animals it lures and hunts. With a large mouth and excellent reflexes, it quickly surfaces while diving to snatch prey.
