Ecology
Egg
Because the egg forms deep underground, it is very difficult to discover. It appears to hold a green gem, but it is not a gem; it is a nutrient crystal. As its hatching period approaches, it gradually rises to the surface, digging its way up as it hatches.
Hatch
During its hatchling period, it doesn't know how to provide nutrients, so it settles on contaminated or lifeless land and restores it. Its entire body is filled with nutrients, giving it astonishing regenerative power.
Hatchling
It inserts its long tail into the ground to provide nutrients. Although it cannot yet supply nutrients to a wide area, it feels great happiness just from seeing small sprouts emerge. Its front claws grow sharp, making it skilled at digging.
Adult
It supplies nutrients not only to vast forests but also to nearby farmlands. Tellus's tail is a passage that allows nutrients to flow between the ground and Tellus. It also moves between the ground and the outside, creating airways for air to circulate underground. The tail can split into several branches according to Tellus's will, or extend very long to envelop the forest. It is skilled at nurturing and protecting the forest, but also at attacking sharply to defend it. It is very sensitive to tree felling, and will track and attack any loggers who enter the forest until they leave.
Observation Log
- Tellus sits on contaminated land to heal it, but doesn't really know how it does so.
- Tellus's body is full of nutrients, so minor wounds heal quickly and the surrounding ground is purified along with it.
- Tellus feels proud when it sees its nutrients flowing into the ground and sprouting new buds.
